Ten Places to find Free Twitter Icons

Icons are fun and are a way to demonstrate our style and personality. As more people get on Twitter, they are looking for great Twitter icons to individualize their sites and guide readers to their tweets.

Here are ten places to find free Twitter icons:

1. Sharebrain

Sharebrain.com is a web designer’s magazine and offers Twitter icon packages from different designers and sites. This site includes descriptions and links to the designers’ sites.

2. Hongkiat

Hongkiat.com has over one hundred Twitter icons, many free, and they come in a variety of birds, banners and buttons. A nice selection and perfect for adding to your website or blog to drive Tweeps to your tweets.

3. The Design Cubicle

The Design Cubicle has over six hundred Twitter and Social Media icons and buttons. Like Sharebrain, this site offers links to other sites and brief descriptions of the site’s icons designs.

4. Productive Dreams

Productive Dreams offers 100% vector icons. It includes four different poses of the Twitter bird and the zip file contains both PNG and PSD versions.

5. Smashing Magazine

Smashing Magazine calls their set Birdies, and it was exclusively designed by IconEden. The icons have clean shapes and are in neutral colors so they can be used in different ways including as desktop wallpaper and on blogs. They are available in EPS and pixel.

6. Web Designer Depot

Web Designer Depot has over fifty free icons, in both vector and raster formats. They include Illustrator files with their download, so you are able to resize the icons to fit your needs. This is a very nice collection, with designs that include road signs, chalkboards, and sticky notes, to name a few.

7. Stock Graphic Designs

These set of icons designed by Stock Graphic Designs include seven designs of the Twitter bird drawn in a sketchy manner. They are cute, kind of look like illustrations from an old time children’s book.

8. Theme Today

Theme Today is a site that collects all kinds of images, with regular updates. They have several Twitter designs like a Twitter super hero, Bird coming out of the shell, and a really nice Twitter bird soaring.

9. Inspired Magazine

Inspired Magazine is a site dedicated to graphic design. Their set includes twenty designs from successful illustrators and they are different than the usual icons. They include an all black bird, a skeleton bird and another like a patchwork quilt. Very unique collection.

10. Geek Sucks

Geek Sucks has over one hundred free icons, and they have them arranged in categories for easier browsing. There are cute and colorful bird sets. They also have icons that look like a real baby chick, in signature Twitter blue, coming out of a shell. The design is by Detrans, and looks very cool.
