Thanks to the state of the economy, there are a lot of people who have decided that they were going to take a road trip this year for vacation instead of spending money on plane fare. Urbanspoon – This is especially a good application for people who are traveling with children who are always claiming that they are hungry. It tells you where the restaurants are based on what type of food you want. Do the kids want hamburgers and fries? It will tell you where to go to get the best.
Yelp – Say you are on the road and you are thinking about stopping for something to eat for the night. If you have this application on your iPhone, you are going to find that there are reviews of the hotels and restaurants nearby. This way you won’t have any surprises, and you will know what to expect from the establishment.
Where To? – GPS point of Interest – Even though this application costs $2.99, you are going to find that it’s a great application for when you are on the road and want to find places that you and your passengers might be interested in. It will help you find things like shopping centers, spas, zoos, anything your heart might desire. And if you want to have a surprise, then use the feature that says Surprise Me!
Years ago when you were driving someplace, you had no idea of where things were or what other people thought of them. But these days with the above applications from iPhone, you are going to be able to get an idea of where things are and have less of a surprise than you may have in the past.
The iPhone is one thing that has really made traveling a lot easier for people, especially those who are traveling by car and who are unfamiliar with the area. All you have to do is to click on one of the applications and get information that you can use about the place where you are.
It’s amazing how technology has changed in the past decade. It has made things much more easy on everyone, but especially on travelers who can find the places that they are looking for with very little effort or trouble.

Even though it costs 3 bones, I really enjoy using the Compass Application. It is indeed handy since I am a traveling sales woman. I appreciate the time you have taken to complete this post. cheers
I use urbanspoon all the time, this is a great application. I have tried yelp but I just can’t get into it.
Yo this GPS app looks pretty tight, I am going to download it and tell you how it goes later.
These apps are definetly handy, I have tried everyone of these because I am a app head. I really enjoy using yelp the best.
